Your research question is thought provoking. I would begin by researching the basis of the mask, the Kabuki player’s persona as a character. What is the character symbolizing? Why are these colors, costumes, movements, etc., employed? THrough this you will be guided to the meaning, purpose, and function of the color and the mask in the Kabukie theatre practice. Make sense? Begin a little more broadly and then narrow is. Through the process you will hone the research. Now you have enough to begin research so GO FOR IT!
